In a constantly evolving economic and social environment, artificial intelligence (AI) is not only a technological reality, but also a strategic driver of competitiveness and cultural change. It is key to transforming companies, sectors, and, above all, ways of working, and therefore has a direct impact on people.

At Caja Ingenieros, as a cooperative entity, we firmly believe that innovation doesn’t happen in isolation. In the age of AI, talent isn’t attracted or developed in isolation. Its true strength lies in collaboration, in the shared generation of knowledge, and in the connection between research, emerging talent, and business experience.

This vision drives us to build strategic alliances with diverse actors in the AI ecosystem, enabling us to explore, learn, and apply the latest technology meaningfully and purposefully. For example, since 2024, we have collaborated with CIDAI , allowing us to explore practical AI applications in key areas of our business, with the goal of developing innovative solutions to improve the experience and service we offer to our more than 216,000 members —our true reason for being.

These strategic alliances, which Caja Ingenieros we value highly, include not only organizations but also universities and educational centers—vibrant spaces for mutual learning, where ideas and innovation flourish. For this reason, for example, we have partnered once again with the Hackathon at the Autonomous University of Barcelona , a platform where engineering students collaborate in teams to solve real-world technological challenges posed by leading companies. In this past edition, participants were able to test their ideas and demonstrate, for more than 32 consecutive hours, that innovation is not just about technology: it’s about talent, leadership, and collaboration to solve shared challenges that aim to improve people’s lives.

Similarly, we collaborated with ESADE by proposing two real-world challenges as Capstone Projects within the Master in Business Analytics, in which we mentored 16 students. These experiences allow us to bring the business world into the classroom and, at the same time, incorporate fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to our own challenges.

This line of collaboration with strategic players in the AI ecosystem is completed with Palmeratech This technology event was created with the goal of bringing technology to life in a practical way for businesses, professionals, and the general public . As the main sponsor, we promote this space from a cooperative vision of the financial model, convinced that innovation should be accessible and shared. This is further reinforced by our connection with the IngeniaLab project , through which we have been able to provide AI training to more than 200 professionals and students affiliated with engineering schools, enhancing skills that will be key to the future of the sector.

Finally, we recognize that the deployment of artificial intelligence requires responsibility and trust. Therefore, we rely on the expert knowledge of the OEIAC – the Observatory of Ethics in Artificial Intelligence of Catalonia – to train our employees in the ethical and responsible use of AI data and systems. Because only through robust governance is it possible to scale the technology and generate sustainable and positive value over time.

All these forged bonds highlight that, at Caja Ingenieros, we are convinced that the true challenge of artificial intelligence is not only technological, but also cultural and strategic, which is why it is essential to build solid bridges that are committed to innovation, continuous training and, above all, place people at the center of the transformation.
