Applied artificial intelligence is one of the key tools to address the enormous challenges posed by water cycle management today, from predicting the impact of climate change on water resources to optimizing treatment processes using intelligent agents. The Masterclass will cover multiple areas of the water cycle in which artificial intelligence is already present.
In this session IDEAI-UPC will provide an overview of how AI can contribute to improving water quality in wastewater treatment processes, finding how to sectorize a drinking water network, or managing reclaimed water, among others, based on different AI techniques that respond to different issues in the sector.
And we will delve into the different branches of AI that bring value to these areas of water, ranging from clustering techniques with automatic interpretation of the identified classes, to predictive models with sensor data, through case-based reasoning methods or intelligent decision-making support systems, among others.
Once the context of AI for water has been characterized, A specific space will be dedicated to advances in virtual sensing or virtual sensorization. In a context of continued water stress, virtual sensing is one of the AI applications with the greatest potential to accelerate the use of reclaimed water.
To finalize, Cetaqua will present the experience acquired in the field and some success stories in developing virtual sensors with AI.
