The PIO Model on Obligations and Rights is a new assessment tool on ethical and legal uses which is harmonised with current legislative requirements and ethical standards and recommendations. This new tool moves beyond the application of checklists and provides resources and catalogues to answer critical questions on complexity and unintended consequences, technical trust and social trust, legal compliance and liability, preventive measures and responsible innovation in AI.
In this masterclass we will give an overview of the goals and possibilities of using the new PIO Model, especially in view of new AI legislation such as the AI Act.

Programa

I will discuss three topics related to the PIO Model on Obligations and Rights, a tool that:

1) Promotes compliance with AI risk regulations through a comprehensive check 2) Identifies appropriate or inappropriate actions and raises awareness of the quadruple helix on the ethical and responsible use of AI data and systems 3) Fosters alignment with the growing international uptake of ethical principles and high-level standards in designing, implementing and using AI data and systems.

Masterclass given by the BSC, the Government of Catalonia and OEIAC
