The emergence of the artificial intelligence combined with access to huge molecular libraries has the potential to revolutionizing drug discovery.

Although the initial success rates reported by the use of independent AI techniques are insufficient; through the combination ofmachine learning algorithms with modeling techniques more traditional, it is possible to give a significant boost to success rates.

In this masterclass, we will review the most recent approaches and highlight future possibilities that are presented in the field of biomedicine.

Programa

  • Access to molecular libraries through AI
  • Drug Discovery
  • Combination of machine learning and modeling
  • AI & Computing: the future of biomedicine

Masterclass taught by the BSC (CIDAI core partner)

Taught by:

Victor Guallar
ICREA Research Professor, Barcelona Supercomputing Center.

Professor Guallar completed his university studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with a specialization in Chemistry, followed by a joint doctorate in Physical Chemistry at UC Berkeley and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with professors Josep M. Lluch, Miquel Moreno and William H Miller (thesis defense in November 1999). In 2006 he was appointed ICREA Research Professor in the Department of Life Sciences of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) where he has been developing his research group. In 2016, he co-founded Nostrum Biodiscovery, the first BSC spin-off.
