The CIDAI (Centre of Innovation for Data Tech and Artificial Intelligence), in collaboration with the business cluster Hub23, organised this technical session to present and analyse the results of the innovation project “Exploration of Biometric Data Detection in Football Matches.”

The project, developed by the Computer Vision Center (CVC) and Eurecat —both CIDAI members— aims to explore the potential of computer vision and artificial intelligence techniques to automatically identify players’ limbs, opening up new possibilities for analysis and monitoring in the sports sector.

Body position detection in football players.
A review of the state of the art in Human Pose Detection and an experimental analysis of the most recent methods applied to football matches. The session will explain dataset curation and explore the most commonly used neural network architectures and their performance in real‑world environments. The goal is to identify the most efficient approaches for accurate and real‑time detection of players’ posture.
