16:25h Panel of research groups within the Network (50 minutes):
4:25pm University of Barcelona – WAI | Maria Salamó: The group works in many fields of application for AI. However, much of its innovation is applied in more specific sectors: education, medicine, social interaction and citizen participation. Official website: http://www.ub.edu/wai/
16:35h University of Lleida – GREIA | Jordi Planes: The group’s general line of research is to provide answers and solutions related to energy engineering, industrial and construction design, sustainability and artificial intelligence.
4:45pm University of Girona – LEQUIA | Hèctor Monclús: Engaged in developing eco-innovation solutions for the environment. These are mainly in the water treatment industry but also in renewable energy, waste treatment and capturing and converting CO₂ into value-added products. AI area.
16:55h Eurecat – Applied AI | Xavier Domingo: Research and development of innovative solutions (algorithms, methods, platforms) based on the combination of AI and knowledge management technologies, especially geared towards the industrial, energy and sustainability sectors.
17:05 URV – ITAKA | Domènec Puig: Research into AI computer techniques. The group has extensive experience in the application of these techniques, especially in Health. The group has three main research strands: (1) smart data mining and analytics (using fuzzy information, sequential and time-series data, semantic knowledge analysis and social media data), (2) decision support systems (with personalisation, multi-criteria data fusion, machine learning), and (3) robotics and computer vision (image analysis, feature extraction, deep learning).
