As part of DIH4CAT, the RDI-IA Network and CIDAI have entered into a new partnership to continue promoting interaction between research and business.

The RDI-IA Network was set up with the goal of providing technology transfer mechanisms to all Catalan research groups involved in artificial intelligence.

Meanwhile, CIDAI fosters knowledge transfer and joint projects between businesses and Catalan AI-related research.

This synergy results in an event which seeks to raise the profile of the groups among relevant Catalan innovation ecosystem players such as small and medium-sized enterprises, tech start-ups and large corporations.

Programa

4 pm Institutional welcome (10 minutes)

    • Dimosthenis Karatzas, Associate Director at the Computer Vision Center (CVC)
    • Marco Orellana, Technical Office Manager at CIDAI

4.10 pm DIH4CAT AI/CIDAI Node action strands (5 minutes)

    • Marco Orellana, Technical Office Manager at CIDAI

4.15 pm Technology transfer and valorisation mechanisms in the RDI-IA Network (10 minutes)

    • Sergi Besonias, RDI-IA Network Manager at the Computer Vision Center (CVC)

4.25 pm Panel of research groups in the Network (50 minutes):

4.25 pm University of Barcelona – WAI | Maria Salamó: The group works in many fields of application for AI. However, much of its innovation is applied in more specific sectors: education, medicine, social interaction and citizen participation. Official website: http://www.ub.edu/wai/ 4.35 pm University of Lleida – GREIA | Jordi Planes: The group’s general line of research is to provide answers and solutions related to energy engineering, industrial and construction design, sustainability and artificial intelligence.

4.45 pm University of Girona – LEQUIA | Hèctor Monclús: Engaged in developing eco-innovation solutions for the environment. These are mainly in the water treatment industry but also in renewable energy, waste treatment and capturing and converting CO₂ into value-added products. AI area.

4.55 pm Eurecat – Applied AI | Xavier Domingo: Research and development of innovative solutions (algorithms, methods, platforms) based on the combination of AI and knowledge management technologies, especially geared towards the industrial, energy and sustainability sectors.

5.05 pm URV – ITAKA | Domènec Puig: Research into AI computer techniques. The group has extensive experience in the application of these techniques, especially in Health. The group has three main research strands: (1) smart data mining and analytics (using fuzzy information, sequential and time-series data, semantic knowledge analysis and social media data), (2) decision support systems (with personalisation, multi-criteria data fusion, machine learning), and (3) robotics and computer vision (image analysis, feature extraction, deep learning).
