{"id":7383,"date":"2024-01-15T12:37:22","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T11:37:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cidai.eu\/esdeveniments\/presentation-of-high-impact-projects-in-the-agri-food-sector\/"},"modified":"2026-04-15T17:22:49","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T15:22:49","slug":"presentation-of-high-impact-projects-in-the-agri-food-sector","status":"publish","type":"esdeveniment","link":"https:\/\/cidai.eu\/en\/events\/presentation-of-high-impact-projects-in-the-agri-food-sector\/","title":{"rendered":"Presentation of High Impact Projects in the Agri-Food Sector &#8211;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CIDAI generates, validates and transfers high value-added AI technologies to foster innovation in Catalonia&#8217;s strategic economic sectors, including public administration and the third sector.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve this goal, CIDAI&#8217;s initiatives include supporting the specification and implementation of projects which address particular challenges in which AI is a core component of the solution. <strong><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">This session will present the results and knowledge gained during the implementation of a High Impact Project in the agri-food industry begun in 2022.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Subproject<\/strong> <strong>1: AI LAB &#8211; Improving quality processes in pig farms through individualised tracking (algorithms, data, data space and business model):<\/strong> in the first case, a methodological model (AI LAB) has been defined which has allowed identifying territorial challenges and involving quadruple helix actors to map out an AI solution with an associated business and sustainability model. In partnership with the University of Lleida, the Centre for Pig Studies (CEP) and with the participation of the Catalan Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives and consultancy firms in the industry, a computer vision model has been developed that allows individualised tracking of the lifecycle of pigs on the farm, obtaining metrics on their wellbeing. This solution has been integrated into a proof of concept of a common data space for the agri-food sector in the context of the European Gaia-X initiative while a governance framework has been identified with the sector to develop business and data exploitation models.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Subproject 2: Optimisation patterns for antibiotic use on livestock farms:\u00a0<\/strong>In the second case, and with the collaboration of the Animal Feed and Livestock Production Safety Service of the Government of Catalonia, antibiotic use patterns on livestock farms have been identified to reduce their use and minimise the effects on humans, defining the potential integration of these algorithms and data in the data space developed in the first project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CIDAI generates, validates and transfers high value-added AI technologies to foster innovation in Catalonia&#8217;s strategic economic sectors, including public administration and the third sector.
