– Mapping the Artificial Intelligence ecosystem in Catalonia:
Within the framework of the Intelligence Strategy of Catalonia (CATALONIA.AI), we promote this mapping, which aims to identify and visualize the companies and agents of the Catalan ecosystem around Artificial Intelligence and the data economy. This initiative is promoted by the Government of Catalonia through the Ministry for Digital Policy and Public Administration and ACCIÓ, CIDAI and the Digital Cluster of Catalonia. It is an opportunity to understand the capabilities in the AI and data field in Catalonia and how to project ourselves as a pole of innovation and excellence.
Do not miss the opportunity to take part and answer the survey.
Once you complete the survey, your company will also appear on the map and the list that we will publish with the data of the ecosystem actors.
– EU Digital Funding:
Artificial Intelligence co-investment Facility (3/12/2020) The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Investment Fund (EIF) have launched a co-investment mechanism of up to 150 MEUR to support the companies working in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). More specifically, it would like to target companies that are in the initial or growth phase (small and medium-sized enterprises) through investment in innovative applications in AI or technologies that complement it (Blockchain, Robotics, IoT). At the operational level, this instrument would allow the EIB to invest with EIF-supported funds (and the collaboration of private investors). The distribution of resources will be based on the merits of the proposal, without a deadline (first come, first assessed). The minimum value of the proposal must be 1MEUR. Between 20 and 30 companies are expected to benefit. (Detail of the mechanism and Power Point Presentation).
– Catalan AI ecosystem:
The report “Analysis of the specialization in artificial intelligence in Catalonia” identifies and analyse the main actors in Catalonia that carry out research and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence, their collaboration networks and areas of specialization. It also analyzes the relative position of Catalonia in relation to the leading regions in Europe and the collaboration networks of Catalan actors in the EU and visualizes how artificial intelligence contributes to addressing the challenges of society (SDGs) and industry.
The report has been prepared within the framework of the monitoring program of the RIS3CAT strategy and the Artificial Intelligence Strategy of Catalonia Catalonia.AI, led by the General Directorate of Economic Promotion, Competition and Regulation (Department of the Vice-Presidency and of Economy and Finance) with the collaboration of the Department of Digital Policies and Public Administration and of SIRIS Academic, specialized in the evaluation of research and innovation policies based on data.
